Police, Fire, and Ambulance are all Emergency Numbers?

Saru-kun asked:

Most people with a few nut bag exceptions feel it is okay to use our Government Taxes to pay for Police and Fire but if you mention Universal Health Care for everyone they freak out. Why should this vital life saving service be such a source of division for people?

Everyone will need to go to a Hospital at some point (if not many times) in their life and more and more can’t afford it because premiums are going up faster than salaries are. (This is a fact look it up if you don’t believe me). More people who can’t afford health insurance are going uninsured. They still get sick and they delay going to the hospital until it is life threatening and then go to ER’s because they can’t be turned away. They are then treated which is many times more expensive than if they got preventive help earlier on. The uninsured can’t pay the huge bill so they go bankrupt which strains the hospital which causes costs to go up so more people can’t afford it so more go uninsured…

What is wrong with having everyone required to get Insurance and using tax money for it? This reduces costs in the long term and provides a valuable life saving benefit to many Americans. We want our fellow Americans to live right? Please explain your opinion on this.

p.s. no troll answers please.

I have no problem with it as long as I don’t have to pay more onto of the premiums that I am already paying. Something tells me that I might have to pay more though. Uncle Sam has a tendency to screw those that can support themselves, even if they are barely making it already.

Health care as proposed is not life saving. Read it it is about control. Your analogy is weak and reasoning even weaker

The fines for not having coverage are minuscule compared to the cost of insurance premiums over the course of a year. Most people who are uninsured will remain that way and just pay a fine. Many who are insured today will drop coverage because they’ll have the peace of mind in knowing that they can’t be turned away by insurance companies if they get sick later and need a policy. Everything is wrong with requiring insurance coverage and forcing insurance companies to take all comers. There is a huge failure point in this plan, and that is human nature. They haven’t considered it. The plan assumes (incorrectly) that everyone will line up and participate like nice little citizens. The whole budget/plan is based on this assumption.

Schools, Fire, Police and City, county EMT come out of property taxes. Universal Health Care will come directly out of my pocket for you. The U.S. Treasury released it’s report Friday. We are 11.64 trillion in the red. The Federal Reserve holds 50 trillion of our debt on top of the 700 billion China holds and the 600 billion Japan holds. Congress just extended unemployment benefits with no way to pay for it. The Government can’t even run the Senate cafeteria and you want them to be in charge of your health care. Where is all this money coming from. We don’t have enough taxpayers in the U.S. even if the Government took every cent we made to pay for this.

I did not know that accident victims or other people in true emergency situations are screened for insurance before they are treated. Thanks for clearing that up.
